Movie Night is this Friday, April 24th!!

The springtime events keep coming at Revere.  Hot on the heels of last weekend's Earth Day celebration is this Friday's installment: our first Movie Night!  Here's the idea.  Our fundraising committee has been working hard at partnering with the Cortland neighborhood restaurants to set up a night where parents could go out for dinner and have part of their bill donated to the school, as we have done in years past.  But this year, we have added a twist where you can drop your kids off at the school first for a movie night.  The kids get to hang out with each other and watch a movie, and the parents get to hang out with each other while having a nice meal.  It's 2 fundraisers and a lot of hanging out, all rolled into one!

The restaurants that are participating are: VegaVino Rosso Enoteca, and Bernal Star.  Mention Paul Revere when you are paying and 20% of the check goes to the school.

As for the movie night, the price is $15 for the first child and $10 for each additional child.  Included in the cost is pizza, popcorn, and childcare courtesy of the PTA.  But SPACE IS LIMITED, so sign up now by filling out the following form.  See you on Friday night!

Niños del Mundo Celebration is this weekend!

Spring is in the air!  And it's time again for our annual celebration of Earth Day and the Day of the Child, which we have combined into one single day and named "Niños del Mundo."  The festivities happen this weekend on April 18th.  Here is the schedule:

 1-2pm Earth Day campus cleanup
 2-2:15pm State of Revere address by Stacy/Rebecca
 2:15-2:30pm Music and Zumba + Carnaval Dancing
 2:30-4pm Fiesta and Multicultural Potluck Dinner

All are welcome, with a special invite going out to next year's incoming Kindergarten families!

SFUSD assignment letters are delivered, and next year's classes are starting to take shape already!  If you have been assigned to Paul Revere or are curious about our school, please join us for a tour.  The schedule is as follows:

4/8 9am

The tours all start in our Community Room, which is room #115 in the Annex building.

ATTENTION PARENTS: Online Survey about the Report Card Format

A Task Force of teachers, parents, community members and district staff is working on revising the current Standards-Based Reports Cards and feels strongly that parent voice is crucial to this work. In your child’s Wednesday Folder from 2/25/15 you should have received a paper copy of a survey for parents to get feedback on your experience with the SBRCs. Thank you for helping us to ensure that many parent voices are heard in this conversation on how to make the SBRCs more comprehensible and actionable for families.

Prop A Renovation Update

Our fearless, organized, and very on-top-of-it Proposition A Committee Chairperson passes on the following updates regarding the upcoming renovation of the school:

  • Construction is now scheduled for May 2015 into early Fall 2016
    • In early May: Eight portable classrooms will be moved onto the Main Building’s Upper Yard, and construction offices will be placed on the Annex Building’s Lower Yard
    • By mid-May: The Cafeteria kitchen will be closed; bagged meals will be available for Breakfast and Lunch (and Supper will be available for students in Revere’s extended-day program)

Come on out for some great music, food, and family fun!  This show is going to benefit the kids at Paul Revere!

Chum is donating 100% of the door for anyone who mentions PAUL REVERE!  If we get 40 covers they arethrowing in another $100 because they are great!

Staff Appreciation Day is tomorrow 11/4!!

This year's theme is "SUPER HEROES."  Please send or bring a dish to share with Revere staff, (anything from a main dish to dessert or drinks) the same day of the event or the day before.  Please drop it off in teacher's lounge (main building).  Volunteers are also needed for the event set up & clean up - just let Katya know.  Any help you can provide will help make this event a success!

This online Book Fair continues until 11/4!

The Paul Revere Book Fair: "Sir Readalot's Castle" is upon us!  The on-campus book fair closed up last Friday, but you can still browse the selection and make your purchase online from 10/15 - 11/4.  A portion of the proceeds will go towards buying much needed books for the classrooms and for the school library.
